Compression spiral router cutters are ideal for cutting and edging boards when you need to optimise finish and minimise breakout on both the top and bottom surfaces as the up & down cutting geometry means you are always get a shear cut into the material core. Excellent performance with veneered boards or solid wood. The special super-micrograin carbide formulation was created to produce and hold a keen cutting edge. The new low-angle spiral is designed specifically to shear wood cleanly and provide efficient chip ejection. The tools run cooler and the edges last longer.
The compression spiral router bit features a unique cutting geometry that helps reduce chipping and tear-out when routing through the material. The design of the bit consists of two cutting flutes that spiral in opposite directions. The bottom flute is designed to compress the material being cut, while the top flute is designed to shear the material away.
This compression action helps to create a cleaner and smoother cut edge on both the top and bottom surfaces of the material. It is particularly useful when cutting through laminates or materials with a veneer surface, where the top layer may be prone to chipping or tearing.
