Membrane presses use a sealable bag and some form of vacuum generator. By placing materials in the bag, sealing it and then sucking out most of the air, a pressure differential is created between the reduced pressure inside the bag and atmosphere on the outside. It is this pressure differential that is used in vacuum pressing. The second style of vacuum press uses a membrane fitted to a hinged frame attached to a rigid vacuum bed through which the air is removed. A FramePress can be a more convenient solution if you are regularly pressing large panels.

Such are the targets that we had in mind when we designed this range of air membrane presses for thermoforming materials (PVC, PPE, ABS, TRANSFER FOILS; etc.) or natural veneers. Estrema is available as a membrane or membrane-less version and can be supplied with one, two,three trays with manual or automatic movement. The trays can be equipped with the exclusive Italpresse PSS (PIN SUPPORT SYSTEM) that completely eliminates the need for panel raisers and accelerates the production changes. In recent years, the exclusive ITALPRESSE PSS (PIN SUPPORT SYSTEM) has had an incredible success with our customers, who give enthusiastic comments about how easy to use is this system without compromising the product quality. It's by far faster and more efficient than any magnetic or 'add-on' device and it saves a lot of money if compared with a full blown scanner pin system. The working tray is completely filled with square pins. With a simple push of the pins around the panel, they go down, leaving the panel correctly raised over the working table. When you need to change the dimensions of the panels, all the pins can be re-set to the up position while the tray exits the press. A special surface finish of the top face of the pins prevents any shifting of the panels during the whole cycle. Another advantage is that you don't need to put 'blocks' around the isolated panels because the pins have a 'self-blocking' effect saving the quality of panel edges and corners.
