  1. Sedgwick SM255TS 'Vantage' Tilting Spindle Moulder
The Sedgwick SM255 Vantage Tilting Spindle Moulder has a better specification. The machine is supplied complete prefitted with Aigner's extra safe, integral 500+500 Finger Fence and prefitted VP380 Power Feed unit. It also has x2 folding extension tables - perfect for extra long workpieces and feed work. The machine is perfectly preset by our engineers so you can be rest assured that it's plug and play. It gives you the options you need to work efficiently and safely! The Sedgwick SM255t is robust backwards tilitng spindle moulder made in the UK that has 'TRUE-TILT' a unique 'true vertical' rise and fall system allows for vertical adjustment of the spindle independent of the tilting mechanism. The angled tool when adjusted up or down keeps the same position relative to the fence assembly making setups and adjustments easier. It can tilt 5 degrees forwards and 45 backwards. Working from underneath the stock makes for safer working, and gives more creative possibilities, without restriction on the size of stock being machined, and without obstruction to the pressure guards or power feed. Wood chips are directed into the exhaust outlet in the machine base. The Sedgwick 255 is built on a heavy cast iron table that is mounted on a steel cabinet. The table has an anti-friction, planed finish so you can feed work smoothly past the cutter head. The bearing housing, rise & fall assembly and motor mountings are also heavy machined cast iron. The spindle is belt drive by an industrial motor and runs in "sealed for life" bearings, which require only minimal maintenance. Ease of use: The spindle rise, fall and tilt mechanisms are operated by a crank handle at the front of the machine. Both adjustments have digital readouts for accuracy. The SM255t has a really nice cast iron 'horseshoe' type assembly with independently adjustable precision-ground fence plates pre drilled to take a wooden subfence. Changing speeds is an easy access belt system. The viewing panel shows the spindle speed Versatility - as standard the machine has a loose top removable spindle allows you to swap between 30mm and 1 1/4" spindles, as well as has the flexibility of using optional router cutter, or tenoning spindles. The machine is has a steel cutter guard on the cast horseshoe with excellent 'shaw' pressure guards which have hexagonal mountings and metal locking handles. Twin outlet dust extraction from both the cutter-well and fence locationsmake for a clean working environemnt. Additional safety features include: automatic braking; starter with thermal overload no volt release protection and lock-off emergency stop; lockable isolator; electronically interlocked door; a footstop and a socket for in preparation for a power feed unit.
